Parking

The easiest access point is through the Landham Brook Marsh Conservation Land on Landham Road. There is a small parking lot in front of the Conservation Land sign.

Hike

We walked through Landham Brook Conservation Land 10 minutes to enter the shade of the woods on trail E and took a right headed for Wash Brook. The loop paths are narrow and flat but well marked. We were completely alone the entire walk, it felt like a scene from Jurassic Park – just needed a Pterosaur to fly over. As we hiked the loop just before point D there is an abandoned 1950’s rusted old car, very strange. Apparently the land used to be farmed and once abandoned became overgrown again.

On arriving at trail D, what a sight, the woods opened out into a marsh. In the distance, we saw 3 Blue Heron nests, one of which was occupied. A mother bird flew back in while we stopped for a water break, so gracious even the teens where impressed.

Following the loop trail back at a meandering pace to E took 50 minutes covering 2 miles with occasional stops. What a hidden gem this place is tucked away behind houses.
